Monument comes with no storage. It allows users to use their own standard USB disks, so they can have as much or as little storage as they need. If you plug in 2TB hard drive, then you will have 2TB of storage. This gives you the power to expand your storage when you need it. With the price of external hard drives constantly decreasing it gives you the power to expand your storage when you need it, at the best price.
You can use any USB Drive with any capacity with Monument. For example, if you plug in 8TB drive, then you will have 8TB of storage.
Monument automatically prevents duplicate photos and videos from being copied to it.
Yes, Monument supports up to 5 user profiles.
iCloud provides up to 5GB free storage – after that, you need to pay monthly fees. Monument does not require any monthly fees and saves your content in its original quality. Monument gives you no doubt-privacy and security - no one can see your photos except you. You can also use Monument apps on Android and Windows computers as well. You're not locked into a single platform to manage photos.
Google Photos gives you free storage space with reduced picture quality. If you want to store photos in their original quality or need more space, you need to pay monthly fees. Monument does not require any monthly fees, saves your content in its original quality, and provides complete privacy – no one can see your photos except you.

Absolutely, you can reach your Monument device wherever you are as long as your internet connection at home is up and running. Monument uses a protocol called UPnP to upload and download photos when you're away. While this feature is enabled by default for some router models, a few router models require enabling UPnP support manually. Yes. Using the Monument’s desktop application, you can transfer photos from your computer. For SD Cards, just plug the card into Monument and start backing up.

Yes, Monument supports RAID-1. Monument automatically mirrors your content on the second USB drive you plug into the device for extra redundancy.
